James is a criminal lawyer who provides clients with candid advice and skilled, professional representation. He is a member of the Law Societies of British Columbia and Ontario.
Following his call to the Ontario bar in 2016, James worked for the Ministry of the Attorney General as Crown Counsel in multiple jurisdictions. He earned years of experience prosecuting the range of criminal offenses, from shoplifting to murder. James refined his trial advocacy techniques working with many of the preeminent judges and criminal lawyers of that province. He has provided legal training to frontline police officers, as well as at the Ontario Police College. Having both prosecuted and defended criminal charges, James is uniquely capable of evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of his clients’ cases and developing customized litigation strategies for each situation.
As a graduate of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, James volunteered extensively at the Student Legal Assistance clinic helping disadvantaged, vulnerable people resolve their legal problems. He now defends people from all segments of society against allegations of wrongdoing. He will defend your presumption of innocence and ensure that the prosecution is held to its strict burden of proof.
